Tooth brushing

Tooth brushing is the most important method for mechanically cleaning your teeth. But only brushing your teeth is not enough to fight dental plaque that is causing dental caries, gum inflammation (gingivitis), and periodontal disease. Therefore you need interdental aids like dental floss, interdental brushes, and dental sticks.

You should brush your teeth at least twice a day, in the morning and before you go to bed. The proper brushing takes at least two minutes. Actually 120 seconds are longer than you think and most adults are not brushing their teeth that long.

and at least twice a day”

No matter what your brushing technique is like, you should make sure you are using a toothbrush that is clean and not too worn. As a general rule, change your toothbrush every 3 month or even before, if it starts to show wear.

Many of us have learned tooth brushing in the school or from our dentist, but everyone is doing it slightly different. I am not going to explain you the proper technique here. Instead, I encourage you to watch some videos on that topic, for example here.
